**Love for WordPress**: Show some real passion for WordPress! Get involved because you genuinely care about the platform and its mission, not just to get a pat on the back.

**Solid Coding Skills**: Know your web development stuff! Understand the ins and outs of WordPress best practices and coding standards. Aim to write code that’s clean, tested, and easy to maintain.

**Eye for Detail**: Keep an eye on the little things. Whether it’s fixing bugs, rolling out new features, or updating docs, aim for top-notch quality in everything you do.

**Team Player**: Jump into the WordPress community! Engage with others, share your thoughts, and be open to feedback. Teamwork makes the dream work, so let’s work together towards common goals.

**Patience is Key**: Remember, contributing to a big open-source project can take time. Be ready for several rounds of reviews and tweaks before your awesome work makes it into the project.

**Stay Humble and Respectful**: Approach the community with an open mind, respect the views of seasoned contributors, and be ready to learn from everyone around you. Leave the ego at the door!

**Take Ownership**: Own your tasks and see them through. Be accountable for what you contribute and how it impacts the community.

**Be Diligent and Reliable**: Stick to your commitments! Respond quickly to questions and feedback, and be someone others can depend on in the community.

**Flexibility is Important**: Be open to changes and adapt to new ways of doing things. As the project and community evolve, so should your approach!

**Share the Knowledge**: Pass on your skills! Help mentor newbies and guide them through the community. Let’s work together to keep the WordPress ecosystem thriving for the long haul.
